Sidewalk survey · Ortigas Center, Pasig
One phone video, measured metre by metre with two off-the-shelf vision models and no training. Each strip below is one attribute of the sidewalk, laid along the metres walked; every measurement is filed at the spot it describes, not where the camera stood.
Hover or drag across the strips to see the spot. Arrow keys step a metre (Shift: 10).
For half this walk there is no sidewalk. After a wet sidewalk and a wide driveway apron (0 to 23 s) and a short, narrow stretch between utility poles (24 to 30 s), you walk on asphalt along a long green construction hoarding from 30 to 72 s. There are parking-bay markings and loose bollards, and no shade at all. The model's "road" call is right here.
Then a strip that barely counts. From 72 to 102 s, past a covered food-stall area, the walkable surface is a narrow strip under palm trees with a yellow curb line marking the road edge. You're in the road for much of it, with puddles at 99 to 105 s. Where the strip exists, it's about 0.8 to 1 m wide, with a pole in the middle at 99 s.
A real sidewalk along the office buildings. From 105 to 150 s it's tiled and 1 to 4 m wide. The clear path is pinched by utility poles, planters, yellow-and-black bollards and guards standing at building entrances (poles in the walking line at 111 to 141 s).
The best stretch is short. From 150 to 168 s, a red-tiled sidewalk 1.6 to 2.3 m wide has a railing between you and traffic. The walk ends crossing an intersection and two zebra crossings (169 to 195 s). From the video alone I can't tell whether the corner curbs at 192 to 195 s have ramps.
The distance is probably short. The video's estimate is 188 m. Placing the walk on the map will correct it.
