Sidewalk survey · Sapphire Rd, Ortigas Center, Pasig
One phone video, measured metre by metre with two off-the-shelf vision models and no training. Each strip below is one attribute of the sidewalk, laid along the metres walked; every measurement is filed at the spot it describes, not where the camera stood.
Hover or drag across the strips to see the spot. Arrow keys step a metre (Shift: 10).
The first walk recorded with the Walk Logger app, and the first placed on the map without help. GPS and the phone's motion tracking put it on the west side of Sapphire Road, heading north: 71 m in 59 s. The two agree to within 3 m on average. The phone pointed about 7° above the horizon, so the top third of most frames is sky and towers.
A wide frontage, badly worn (0 to 17 s). The first stretch runs beside a planter wall on cracked, patched concrete 2 to 3.5 m wide, with a broken hollow at 0 s and a palm trunk standing in the walkway at 15 s. A car is parked against the yellow curb. The model called most of these frames "road" because the concrete is plain grey with no curb in view. The yellow line on the right is the real road edge, so these frames are corrected to sidewalk here and on the city map.
Tiles and no shade (18 to 40 s). A tiled sidewalk about 1.5 to 3 m wide in full sun at 24 to 36 s, with light poles in the walking line. A green construction hoarding runs along the opposite side of the street.
A cluttered entrance (42 to 52 s). Cones, yellow barriers and parked bicycles crowd a vehicle entrance, and the clear path narrows to about 0.9 m past a light pole at 50 s. Some "road" calls here are fair, since the driveway aprons are at road level.
The best shade of the walk (52 to 59 s). Under trees beside a fence, on a concrete sidewalk 1.5 to 2 m wide with a yellow curb. The recording stopped at 59 s when the app went to the background. The next recording starts about 115 m further on, on Ortigas Avenue.
